Action alert

The state’s naturopathic professional association aspired to establish a licensing act and scope of practice for naturopaths in 2017. However, no legislation was introduced that year.

The American Association of Naturopathic Physicians states that naturopaths in Nevada plan to file a licensing bill in 2019.

Scope of practice

Naturopaths are not registered or licensed in Nevada.

In 1987, Nevada stopped licensing naturopaths. They were regulated under the Board of Naturopathic Healing with the enactment of Assembly Bill 444. The board became defunct in 19087 with the enactment of Assembly Bil 438 and any naturopathic license issued by the board expired on July 1, 1987.

How to file a complaint

Physicians are regulated by the Nevada State Board of Medical Examiners. Anyone can file a complaint against a naturopath practicing medicine without a license.
